April 2026 Product update
π What's New in Epix
April was a month of meaningful improvements across the board. We redesigned core self-service experiences, expanded our Open API coverage, introduced powerful pay group configuration tools, and continued polishing the UI to make day-to-day HR work faster and more intuitive. Here's everything that's new.
π₯οΈ Reimagined Self-Service Experience
The employee self-service portal received its most significant refresh yet β built around how employees actually use it.

- βRedesigned home page β A fresh, focused layout makes it easier for employees to find what they need the moment they log in.
- βSmarter calendar navigation β Tapping a calendar day now opens the day detail view directly, removing unnecessary extra steps.
- βOverhauled day detail view β Absences, activities, and time data are now presented in a cleaner, more readable layout.
- βContextual tab visibility β Self-service tabs are automatically hidden when they don't apply to a user's pay group, reducing confusion and clutter.
- βCleaner employee lists β Employees with ended contracts are no longer surfaced in self-service overviews, keeping views relevant and tidy.
π₯ Teams & Organisation
Managing your organisation structure just got more powerful β and easier to navigate.
- βOrganisational chart in team views β Managers and HR can now view org charts directly within team pages, giving instant structural visibility without leaving the screen.
- βCollapsible folder navigation β The teams page now supports expanding and collapsing folder structures, making it much easier to navigate complex hierarchies.
- βSmarter organigram defaults β The org chart now opens with only the root team expanded, so you start with a clean, manageable view and drill in as needed.
- βStable tree interaction β Clicking a team no longer collapses other expanded branches, making navigation more predictable.
βοΈ Pay Group Configuration
A new dedicated configuration space for pay groups gives administrators more control with less setup friction.
- βDedicated pay group settings page β Pay groups now have their own configuration area for a more structured setup experience.
- βDefault work schedules β Set a default work schedule at pay group level, automatically applied to new assignments.
- βDefault absence policies β Configure absence request policies as pay group defaults to ensure consistency across your workforce.
- βDefault pay components β Pay component defaults are automatically synced when new assignments are created, reducing manual configuration.
π Pay Components & Analytics
More visibility and accuracy in how compensation data is presented and analysed.
- βPay component chart improvements β Charts now default to a 12-month view (previously 6 months) and accurately reflect the selected colour configuration.
- βFriendlier payroll code selector β The pay component selector now shows user-friendly descriptions instead of raw codes.
- βAPI colour support β The public API now exposes colour attributes for pay components, enabling consistent UI rendering in custom integrations.
- βChart preview on policy detail β When configuring a pay component policy definition, you can preview the chart directly on the detail page.
- βBI reporting & export fixes β Resolved data accuracy issues in BI reports and restored starters & leavers report downloads.
π Open API Expansion
We continued to extend the Epix Open API, giving integration teams more flexibility and reach.
- βEmployment contract endpoints β New POST and PUT methods allow creating and modifying employment contracts programmatically.
- βCivil state endpoints β New GET, POST, and PUT endpoints for civil state history are now available.
- βRicher contract data β Existing contract lookups now return additional detail fields.
π Internationalisation & UX Polish
Small but impactful improvements that make Epix feel more polished and internationally aware.

- βCountry flags throughout the UI β Flags now appear in top bar filters, the processes widget, people overview, provider listings, and the contract sidebar β making multi-country setups significantly easier to navigate.
- βTerminology alignment β "Dienstjubilea" updated to "Dienstverjaardagen" for better alignment with common usage.
- βSelf-service label refinements β Clearer, more intuitive labels across the self-service environment.
- βCalendar policy messaging β When a calendar request policy is disabled, users now see a clear, descriptive message explaining why β instead of a generic error.
- βCalendar codes in team views β Calendar codes are now visible in team calendar views, providing useful context during availability reviews.
π§ Integrations & Reliability
Stability and compliance improvements across key integrations.
- βHCM system name in sync widget β The sync status widget now displays the name of the connected HCM system for immediate clarity.
- βGerman provider export compliance β The pay component export for the German provider has been updated to meet current compliance requirements.
β‘ Platform & Administration
Behind-the-scenes improvements that keep Epix running smoothly and reduce admin overhead.
- βPayroll code defaults β New payroll codes now include default obfuscation type settings automatically, minimising configuration steps.
- βBulk pay component update stability β Resolved an issue where large-scale updates could become stuck.
- βReporting assistant auto-refresh β Edits in the reporting assistant now refresh automatically without requiring a manual page reload.
- βUser management refinement β The resend invitation option no longer appears for users who have already completed registration.
